3.2 Traverse survey
Intermediate points traversed as such shall be installed using ribboned nails driven into existing permanent structures or pavement. The exposed nail heads shall be conspicuously by oil-based red enamel paint in order to facilitate successive project activities including construction and another survey.
Traverse shall encompass all existing structures or installations such as road, bridge, culvert, railway, water main, underground utilities, etc., which are forming potential obstructions within the project boundary lines. In this case a detailed survey shall be carried out to verify elevations and dimensions of existing structures or installations, which will be reflected in the design. It is advised that information as to existing underground utilities, if necessary, may be obtained from the appropriate local government offices.
Where the cadastral survey is required, the cadastral map showing property lines shall beoverlapped with topographic map to produce a combined output.
