This study did not specifically assess whether positive prehospital FAST significantly modified the decision taken in terms of direct access to the operating room, however, it is intuitive that the prehospital information of a positive abdominal FAST may have an important role in deciding whether to admit a patient with refractory hemodynamic shock or under resuscitative maneuvers for cardiac arrest directly to the operating theatre, especially for blunt trauma cases.
