The effect of LSAC dosage was investigated as following
procedure: Different dosages (from 0.05 to 0.5 g) of LSAC were
added to 50 mL of the 100 mg/L of Cr(VI). The solutions were
shaken at 303.2 K for 6 h. Samples were taken and analyzed, and
the percent removal of Cr(VI), Re, was calculated according to
Eq. (3). Fig. 7 shows the removal of Cr(VI) as a function of LSAC dosage. As seen from this figure, increase in LSAC dosage increased
the percent removal of Cr(VI) when the amount of LSAC is below
0.3 g, which is due to the increase in surface area or adsorption
sites of the LSAC.
