Table 16 compares the same categories
of job responsibilities between library
jobs and nonlibrary jobs. The same as
the co-term analysis, social science data
services in libraries are assuming more
duties related to data discoveries and
data collections. Particularly, 57.14 percent
of library jobs mentioned data discovery
service, while only 22.89 percent
of nonlibrary jobs required it. Likewise,
44.04 percent of library positions asked
for data collection development, but
only 22.89 percent of nonlibrary positions
listed this responsibility. On the
other hand, nonlibrary jobs have had a
strong accent on data analysis functions
(30.12%), which is its largest percentage.
In regard to the task of data preservation,
both types of data professionals gave it
a higher mark.
