Over 230 million square metres of sand and more than 10 million tones of rock have been used in the creation of The Palm Jebel Ali, with the island increasing the 72 kilometre original Dubai coastline by another 85 kilometres.
Reclamation of the island is complete and Nakheel have started work on an island infrastructure that will eventually support a 280.000 population – 215.000 more than Palm Jumeirah – primarily because of the abundant apartment towers located on the twice as wide Palm Jebel Ali crescent.
