Chelsea eyeing a move for Samuel Eto’o
Chelsea are contemplating a move for Samuel Eto’o after failing with two bids for Wayne Rooney.
Jose Mourinho has publicly stated his desire about Wayne Rooney and how the England international is their only remaining transfer target this summer. But having failed with two bids for the Manchester United striker, Chelsea have now earmarked Samuel Eto’o as their back up option in case their third and final bid for Rooney is rejected as well.
The Cameroonian striker is one of the most prolific strikers to have played this game in the last decade and even at 32, he surely has a lot of contribute. Anzhi are currently a club in financial turmoil. Their owner has put up most of the star players for sale, including the former Barcelona striker. Chelsea or other interested clubs could land him for cheap, for a fee as low as £5m. Incidentally, Napoli have also been linked with Eto’o and although his agent has revealed that the Italian club are yetto contact them.
