Q1 Write down the types of Religious and discuss which one is concerned

with Buddhism

Religion is a specific form of social consciousness

According to Vivekananda: “Religion is the manifestation of divinity already in

Therefore, there are types of Religious as:

1. Monotheism (who believe only one God)

2. Henotheism (There are many gods but all Gods are from of only one God

Vedic)

3. Dualism (They believe two supreme opposed powers or two gods)

4. Pantheism (Hindu religion Gods with identical with nature on Gods as a

whole world)

5. Theism: (who believe in god/s)

6. Polytheism: (Many Gods)

7. Atheism: (Who is not believe in god)

All religions refer to two concepts – either: (1) Atheism and (2) Theism

Buddhism is the oldest religion. The Buddha is described as “a teacher of gods

and humans”

Atheism is one in religion concerned with Buddhism

Atheism is the non-belief in god. Atheists are those who have no belief in god.

All humans (and animals, and everything else), and "atheist" means only no belief in

god(s) and does not mean "not religious in general". Atheism is not the opposite of

religion; it is only the opposite of theism.

Like Buddhism, the Buddha taught that: all beings are capable of becoming the

Buddha in the future

So Buddhism is Atheistic religion because it is believe in that-

i) All beings are equal in this world

ii) All beings can achieve the nirvana

iii) Because all beings have potentially for achieving the enlightenment

Q.2. Relation between Interfaith Dialogue and interfaith Harmony

The term interfaith dialogue refers to cooperative, constructive and positive

interaction between people of different religious traditions and beliefs, at both the

individual and institutional levels.

Dialogue often involves promoting understanding between different religions to

increase acceptance of others, rather than to synthesize new beliefs.

Interfaith Dialogue will lead to the interfaith harmony. We may have different

religions, different languages, different colored skin, but we all belong to one human

race. Peace among religions is a precondition for world peace.

There will be no peace among the nations without peace among the religions.

There will be no peace among the religions without dialogue among the religions.

In short, the relation between interfaith dialogue and interfaith harmony is the

relation of cause and result. Interfaith dialogue is the cause of interfaith harmony and

vice versa interfaith harmony is the result of interfaith dialogue.

Q.3. Explain Interfaith Harmony from Buddhist perspective

Buddhism is a religion which teaches people to “live and let live”. In the

history of the world, there is no evidence to show that Buddhists have interfered any

damage to any other religion in any part of the world for the purpose of introducing

their religion. Buddhists do not regard the existence of other religions as a hindrance to

worldly progress and peace.

The 14th Dalai Lama has done a great deal of interfaith work throughout his life.

He believes that the “common aim of all religions, an aim that everyone must try to

find, is to foster tolerance, altruism and love”.

The earliest reference to Buddhist views on religious pluralism and interfaith

harmony in a political sense is found in the Edicts of Emperor Ashoka: "All religions

should reside everywhere, for all of them desire self-control and purity of heart"

Contact (between religions) is good. One should listen to and respect the

doctrines professed by others.

So according to Buddhism interfaith harmony is necessary for peaceful living of all

human beings.

401: Q Five Precept (Panca sila)

Buddhism is the most profound and wholesome education directed by the

Buddha towards all people. The Five precepts are one in the
