regard to dietary intake during the intermittent fasting
period, with the exception of a lower protein intake consumed
during Ramadan by males, no other differences in
energy or macronutrients were observed. It should be
stressed, however, that this was probably a result of the
fact that dietary intake was only studied in a small sample
size of the participants and thus further research into the
dietary intake during Ramadan is necessary.
