3. Results
Trees were irrigated by maintaining the values of soil water content
close to field capacity at 0–100 cm depth, averaging values
of 30.1% and 30.8% in the second and the third season, respectively
(Fig. 1D). The average amount of water applied during the
experiment was around 668 mm per season.
Daily reference crop evapotranspiration (ET0) and precipitation
averaged annual values of 1352 and 295 mm, respectively
(Fig. 1A). The second season showed the lowest evaporative
