Runners spooked in Taiwan’s ‘haunted’ marathon
Runners taking part in a marathon in Keelung, Taiwan, on Wednesday were in for a rather rude surprise, as the organizers had arranged for a woman to stand disguised as a ghost along the way.
According to a local media outlet on.cc, the ploy worked wonders for the performance of many of the runners, who sped up to get away from the "ghost."
You Jingyong, the chairman of the Anle Marathon Association - which hosted the race on a winding mountain road - said that the plan was to add some fun in order to break the monotony of the run.
