Brazil's Central Bank to issue coins to mark World Cup
Brazil's Central Bank formally announced Wednesday plans to issue a series of coins to mark the football World Cup which the country is hosting in June and July.
There are a total of nine types of special coins, including one madeof gold and two made of silver.
The remaining six models are set tobe made in an alloy of copper and nickel, the bank said.The coins will be sold for prices ranging from 30 to 1,180 real(12.50-491 dollars).
The golden coin, the most expensive of the lot, will show the WorldCup trophy. The silver coins will honour tournament mascot Fuleco andthe 12 host cities.
