Adult Education function in a great variety of educational settings, from recreational facilities to universities. In addition, Galbraith and zelenak (1989)identified that adult educators have variety in training:on-the-job training, in service training, and graduate programs in adult education. Many people who are functioning as adult educators do not even identify with the field (Galbraith and zelenak 1989) The upshot of this is that adult education occurs in many places through people who have diverse professional commitments and preparation for their role as adult educators. Common to all, however, is a need for systematic development of instructional knowledge, activities, and materials.
