The structure of the questions followed the logical structure of Grunert’s food-related lifestyle model (Grunert et al., 1993),
according to which items were listed in five different groups: ways of shopping (18 items), quality aspects (18 items), cooking methods (18 items), consumption situation (6 items), purchasing motives (9 items).
The answers given to the 69 questions (items) were indicated on a Likert scale with seven grades by the interviewers,
where grade 7 meant ‘‘strongly agree’’ and grade 1 meant ‘‘strongly disagree.’’
