While the exact ignition source was never identified but may have been an overheated roller bearing on the conveyor,
what is known is that a large dust explosion occurred within the enclosed conveyor belt system in the evening of February
7, 2008. The explosion triggered a series of secondary explosions that rippled through the facility devastating the entire
facility. Itis surmised that each successive explosion dislodged accumulated dust into the air which then ignited.
