recorded increased nitrogen and phosphorus content of soil
through addition of nitrogen, phosphorus and molybdenum
in the cultivation practices.
4. Conclusion
The experimental findings revealed that cowpea productivity
under sandy acidic soil of humid zone can be enhanced
through micronutrient management in the presence of biofertilizers.
Adoption of seed treatment with molybdenum and
biofertilizers along with foliar application of boron at 4 weeks
of planting in combination with recommended inorganic fertilizers
would bring beneficial results for profitability in cowpea
cultivation. The practice will encourage inclusion of cowpea
in crop sequence under acid soil condition.
