1. Jack is nervous about returning with his new wife because he didn’t
consult the town first about getting married. This is parody because
the town Marshall in a Western should be brave, not worried about
such things.
2. Scratchy Wilson, the town “villain,” is just a drunk on a “rampage”
around town. This is parody because he’s not the danger he’s made
out to be. He shoots at empty buildings, at the saloon door, yells at a
dog, etc. He walks away from Jack instead of getting into a gunfight.
He’s dressed in Eastern-made clothing, not the expected Western
garb.
