DB Schenker Logistics terminal in Prague comes on stream
The head office and logistics centre of the Czech subsidiary of DB Schenker Logistics recently moved to a new site. The move to the new business park in Rudná did not interrupt normal service.
The new logistics centre covers a total area of 90,800 square metres. The site has an 8,000-square-metre warehouse with 92 loading bays, including six for jumbo trailers. Some 270 staff members currently work in the 4,700-square-metre administration complex.
Good transport links enable much faster and more efficient movement of goods. Cutting-edge technology and safety/security systems ensure the quality of the logistics processes is consistently high.
The new site has its own bonded and dangerous goods warehouse. In addition, it is equipped with a safety/security system that meets the highest technological standards. An in-house photovoltaic filling station and a solar-powered system for heating water on the grounds are part of the modern complex.
The energy needs of the office and warehouse are largely covered by means of the photovoltaic system. Environmentally sustainable features include smart lighting systems, a particularly efficient system for heating, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as a liquefied petroleum gas filling station for vehicles powered by compressed natural gas.
