Punnett and Shenkar (2007) concluded that "convergence will occur in some
aspects of culture and divergence in others - in some ways, people are becoming more
similar, but in many ways they retain their distinctiveness" (p. 484). International
management researchers need to be aware of factors contributing to both convergence
and divergence, and be able to analyze their influence (p. 484). The objective of this
research study is to examine the convergence and divergence of self-leadership practices
within different national cultures of a multinational corporation operating in Asia.
