In recent years, Chinese farms have adopted some chemical and physical measures to
treat shrimp cultivation pond water in order to prevent viral diseases from breaking out,
and these resulted in the waters becoming organically poor. This cultivation method not
only decreased the nutrition contributions but also exposed shrimp to high light intensity.
The results of this experiment have shown that the growth rate of shrimp under high light
intensity was lower than that under lower ones. Therefore, maintaining moderate light
intensity or transparency of cultivation pond water is favorable for the growth of F.
chinensis shrimp.
