2.1. Sample collection and preparation
A total of 3736 raw, fresh cow’s milk samples were obtained in
the period from February to May (winter-spring season), and June
and July (summer) 2013 from small farms in the eastern continental
region of Croatia (Fig. 1).
Ultra-high temperature (UHT) milk samples (n ¼ 706) were
obtained from markets in the central region of Croatia in the period
FebruaryeMay (winter-spring season), and MayeJuly (summer
season).
