Thus, this kind of template is expected
to have a better performance for synthesis of submicrometersized
titania hollow spheres. In our previous works, we demonstrated
synthesis of submicrometer-sized titania hollow spheres by employing
sulfonated polystyrene (PS) latex particles as a template in the conjunction
with the sol–gel method in which we have succeeded in preparing
hollow sphere materials with strong, thick and relatively smooth shell
walls [19].
