As many as 80% of Japanese electricity consumers say they would consider changing their power supplier after the full liberalisation of the electricity retail market in April, according to a survey by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The online survey conducted on Nov 2 and 3 covered 1,000 men and women aged between 20 and 69. Asked whether they would change their power supplier, 2.8% said they wanted to do so right now, 20.9% would consider it, and 56.3% said they would consider it but did not know whether they would make a change.
