Don't let those who know you or those who don't know you tell you what you can handle. Don't sell yourself short, because others think you are unable or under qualified to do what you believe you can. You know you. No one else knows you better. Strive not to prove yourself to them but to yourself. I am a single parent, a full time student, more than half way through pledging for probably the best professional business fraternity around, VP of an upcoming organization, and holding a chair position in another organization that is close to my heart. I was once told I wasn't good enough or that I wouldn't be able to physically or emotionally handle joining an organization. I was told that being a parent meant others would not accept me. Here's what I say to those who told me I couldn't or that I wasn't good enough, thank you. Thank you for being the voices that gave me the strength to tap into my full potential. I've been able to rise above and better myself and I couldn't have done it without the words that were meant to push me down and break me. I am capable of everything and anything. Don't underestimate passion or determination. I won't be underestimated.
