For me, it started with her lyrics. The way she expresses herself. Taylor doesn't cut corners with her music, she tells the story exactly how it is, it is realistic and it is not some typical soap-opera love story. Taylor never holds back with how she really feels. It is real, and it’s why fans can connect to her music so strongly. Her music does not just consist of songs about breaking up with boys, they explain the hurt that we all feel in those times, so descriptively, and so precisely. How many other songwriters can say they were professionally employed by the age of thirteen? Not many. It takes a lot of courage to be so true to oneself in a world that always wants us to be anything other than who we really are.
