Click. Click. Click.
That was the noise you awoke to. It wasn't constant, but it had a certain pattern. It seemed to fall in step with your gnarly headache. You sat up, remembering what had just happened. You knew what the clicking was. You turned your head slowly towards the sound of the clicking.
Katsuragi Keima sits next to you furiously clicking his PFP. He had a red mark from when you had slapped him. Why does everything you do end with you being alone with Keima? He glanced up from his PFP at you and quickly said,
"I'm sorry about what I said about Chihiro-chan. She's done some stuff to me, and we're not on what you would call 'good' terms. I want to be friends with you. I'm sorry," and looks back down.
Wait, was he, apologizing? It's not something you would expect from scum like him. You wondered what happened between them...might as well ask.
"What happened between you and Chihiro-chan?"
He sighed and clicked off his PFP.
"Well, as you probably have noticed, I am not the most 'likable' guy. Everyone makes fun of me. Chihiro-chan was one of the worst. But here's what really makes her hate me," he said, you listened intently, "One day, we were up on the roof. She confessed her love to me."
"What?!" You were shocked, that never occurred to you.
"I of course refused. I don't think anyone would want to start dating their bully. So now she hates me and I..." He hesitated, a look of pain and despair crossed his face. Wait, was that regret you just saw in his eyes? No, couldn't be. "I...hate her as well," he finally said.
Just as he finished the door opened.
"She's awake! YAY!" You heard a familiar voice. Elsie. She had a tray of delicious looking soup, though it looked...odd somehow.
The childish girl hurried over to the bed you were in and set the tray down on your lap.
"How are you feeling, (Y/N)-chan? Has Kami-nii-sama treated you well?"
"I'm fine, don't worry so much!" You took the soup.
You noticed the purple haired girl standing in the doorway. What was her name though? Haqua maybe? You didn't remember much from last night.
She saw you staring at her and walked over.
"You may have forgotten, so I'm Haqua. The half sister of the Katsuragi siblings. Nice to meet you," she held out a hand. Her hands were smooth and nails were perfectly manicured. But just as you were about to shake...
Dorodorodorodorodoro.
She fiddled with it and shook your hand. Did the same thing Elsie's, how strange.
"Um, I'm (Y/N), nice to meet you too,"
Keima looked at Haqua and then Elsie and then back to me. Haqua whispered something in Keima's ear. He nodded.
"Um, (Y/N), will you excuse us for a second?" Haqua grabbed Keima and Elsie by the collar and dragged them into the hall.
What a strange family, you thought to yourself.
You thought back to what Keima said about what happened between him and Chihiro. That's why he never anything good to say about Chihiro. You had misjudged Keima big time. When you think about it, he never did anything mean. He did let you stay at his house. And he was kinda cute....
You shook your head. You had just met him! You didn't know anything about him! He probably hates you anyways.
Keima and Haqua walked back in, you didn't see Elsie.
"What does that sound mean?" You blurted out, a look of guilt came across Haqua. Keima looked at her with a annoyed expression. You continued, "I mean, it seems to happen whenever I'm around. Then you go off whispering about 'conquests' and such. I'm just curious,"
Keima looked around the room, now in place of annoyance stood a visage of fear. He put his hands at his neck.
"Um, well..." He started, "It's an alarm! It goes off when there's a sale at the game store. We were just going to go over there, wanna come?" He asks kindly, he lets out a long breath and lets go of his neck. Relief washing over his face.
"Um, sure," you say, it sounded more like a question though.
"Great!" Haqua almost yelled, though her face looked upset.
It seems to be yet another intriguing day a Maijima.
