Experiments were conducted using the near isogenic,
Georgia Green peanut cultivar (kindly provided by Dr.
Corley Holbrook, USDA-ARS, Tifton, GA).
Peanuts were obtained with the shells removed. Prior to
inoculation, peanuts were washed in distilled water 3 times
for approximately 5 s each. Testae were removed by hand
and the peanuts air-dried in a chemical fume hood for at least 2 h.
