.3.1.3. SEM analysisFrom the SEM images, clear differences in the surface mor-phology of raw and metal ion loaded seashell powders canbe observed. The seashell powder had heterogeneous surfacemorphology with small granules and many spaces. The metalion loaded images show the appearance of secondary solids onthe surface, indicating that surface precipitation occurred dur-ing biosorption (Kamba et al., 2013). The Pb(II) loaded seashellsurface had different particle sizes; the surface morphologyhad changed with no more existent space. The Cu(II) loadedseashell surface was also differed from the two other images. There were no surface spaces and the particles were tightlypacked. These results were in agreement with the FT-IR results(Fig. 3).
