Copper NPs have a high antimicrobial
activity against B. subtilis. This may be
attributed to greater abundance of amines
and carboxyl groups on cell surface of B.
subtilis and greater affinity of copper
towards these groups.
Copper ions released may also interact
with DNA molecules and intercalate with
nucleic acid strands. Copper ions inside
bacterial cells also disrupt biochemical
processes
