Artificial intelligence, such as neural networks, genetic algorithms,
fuzzy logic and expert systems, based on the principles
of the human brain and natural biological evolution, have
received considerable and increasing interest over the past
decade and have been applied to CNC machining [1,2]. Some
intelligent control strategies (neural network and expert rule
based ACC, neural network and genetic algorithm based ACO)
have beene developed in the intelligent controller module of
our open parallel intelligent CNC milling system [3,4]. The
neural network and genetic algorithm based calculation takes
time, so it limits the response of the intelligent control system.
In this paper, a simple fuzzy control strategy is developed
in the intelligent controller module of the open parallel intelligent
CNC milling system and some experiments with the fuzzy
control strategy are carried out. The results of the intelligent
milling experiments with the fuzzy control strategy show that
the open parallel intelligent CNC system has high robustness
and global stability, and higher machining efficiency
