A near miss implies two moving objects came close to sharing the same space and time. Both continued on with out incident although a little adjustment in space or time could have resulted in a brush or passing contact,
Hit implies where an object has it's trajectory severely distorted like when you hit a ball or a car hits a wall. It's difficult to imagine a near hit unless the object just wasn't there. I've not heard of a 'near hit' and I've heard of a lot.
