Discussion This study examined whether moderately displaced distal radius fractures treated with reduction and plaster cast fixation could be mobilised already at 10 days without an increase in redisplacement and complication rate when compared with fixation in a plaster cast for 1 month. Because fixation with a plaster cast after reduction in distal radius fractures has shown preservation of the dorsal angulation after reduction [13–15], our primary aim was to examine what happens with respect to dorsal angulation in reduced fractures when treated with early mobilisation.
