King Bhummibol Adulyadej began taking music lessons when he was a young prince prince studying in Switzerland,starting with classical music his interest went soon to jazz.
He would buy records of Sidney Bechet, Johnny Hodges and Duke Ellington and play along with them.
The King is also skilled in playing the clarinet, trumpet, piano and electone, and likes to improvise solos.
His Majesty is also a good teacher, says Pathorn, he encourages each one to develop his musical abilities and compares playing music to how society should function.
Each musician is equally important and has his duty to fulfill, just like in society, where everyone know his/her place and has to perform his/her own duty, in this way society will be peaceful and progress harmoniously.
