The third mechanism is the removal of colloidal material
through the formation of Fe(OH)3 flocs. This mechanism enhances
the removal of metal hydroxide solids which have a colloidal form.
Since the amount of coagulation material namely Fe(OH)3 was
always higher than the amount required for sweep floc destabilization
of colloids, the effect of this mechanism could be considered
equivalent in all experimental studies carried out in the present work
