Heathcliff There are Two Families AND Abuse Remorseless Manipulation Anger Madness Throughout the novel, Heathcliff displays an unparalleled ability to charm and manipulate people around him in order to achieve his own desires. As the novel progressed into the latter stages of the storyline, Heathcliff had begun to express sadistic abuse upon others, most notably upon Isabella. Time after time, Heathcliff shows a lack of regret and guilt over many of the atrocities he has committed during the novel. Heathcliff expressed anger very often within the book, and grows exponentially over the course of the book until it becomes out of control. Of all things, there is no problem more profound than the quite evident fact that Heathcliff was indeed mad. “..Is Mr. Heathcliff a man? If so, is he mad? And if not, is he a devil?..”

A serious mental disorder which can lead to: Anger, Baiting, Animal Cruelty, a sense of Divide and Conquer, Emotional Abuse, etc..many traits Heathcliff expressly portrays.
