• Offer support and assistance to the family or friends of the deceased guest. It is recommended to maintain any evidence of offers of assistance
(Including repatriation of the body)
• Take photographs of the place of death (once the body has been removed)
• Secure the victim’s belongings
Make an agreed inventory of the victim's effects in the presence of a manager and (where possible) a representative of the police or emergency services.
• If the death was caused as the result of an accident, remove the related source of danger
• Photograph and/or film the damage to property in preparation for future insurance claims
• Retain the logbook and any other documents relating to how the event has been managed
(May be useful if legal proceedings follow).
