A sign in kiosk would aim to make changes in the main lobby,but would be expected to result in changes throughout the system once implemented. When the changes were made to the simulated system, average wait time and total time in the system decreased. The average number of receptionists busy in the main lobby and main lobby receptionist utilization were also affected. A chart comparing the effects of the kiosk system is shown below in Table 3. Paired t-tests were used to compare the original model and the kiosk system model at a 95% confidence interval to determine whether the differences are significant.
