We went the weekend of the Monkey Banquet festival and the hotel was very busy. Despite booking 2 months in advance using Booking.com the hotel appeared to have no record of our reservation. Luckily, they found 3 rooms for us anyway but they were not the 'VIP' rooms we had booked. They charged us the lower price so not a big deal but we were very relieved that they did still have rooms or it could have been a disaster. The hotel is rather far from the city centre but by taxi it's not bad at all. Wouldn't want to walk. There's not much in the area so we decided to eat in the restaurant that night and the chicken (which was in 2 of our 5 dishes) was very cheap and gristly to the point of being inedible. Everything else was ok - not amazing, but fine. The rooms also had very flimsy doors which meant all of our party was woken up at some point by children and drunk adults running and chatting loudly in the corridors during the night. However, overall, given how cheap it was, can't complain!
