Fig. 2 shows a photograph of a diluted aqueous suspension
of hydrolyzed cassava bagasse prepared according to conditions
CW40. The dispersion was homogeneous indicating the presence
small particles. The presence of cellulose whiskers is clearly evidenced.
The geometrical characteristics, i.e. average length (L) and
diameter (D), were found to be around 1150 and 15 nm, respectively,
and the aspect ratio (L/D) was around 76 (Teixeira et
