The exploration of the forms of incentives offered in order to reward the improvement in employees’ performance, was realized through an empirical survey of management and non-management personnel of six luxury hotels of multinational chains in Athens, which had the following main objectives: to explore the perceived significance of a number of job-related motivators in the luxury hotel sector, to investigate the relationship, if any, between individual variables and the incentives offered in luxury hotel employees and managers, and finally, based on the findings, to suggest strategies for developing suitable motivational programs for employees of different hierarchical levels and different individual backgrounds.
