The
theoretical
model
shows
that
an
automotive
industry
employee’s
job
satisfaction
is
positively
associated
with
increase
in
production,
reduction
in
absenteeism
and
stress.
The
current
study
is
the
first
to
identify
the
effect
of
managerial
initiative
on
job
satisfaction
among
the
employees
of
automotive
industries.
By
focusing
on
the
motivation,
employee
engagement
and
job
satisfaction
literature,
this
research
finds
that
employee
job
satisfaction
leads
to
increase
in
production
and
reduction
in
absenteeism
and
stress.
After
all,
if
an
employee
enjoys
being
at
work
then
it
seems
logical
that
he
would
be
less
prone
to
harbor
ill
feelings
about
his
job
and
feel
more
comfortable
in
working
towards
the
objective
of
the
organization.
Employee
job
satisfaction
results
in
increase
in
production,
and
then
it
may
also
yield
reduction
in
absenteeism
and
stress
of
the
employees.
Thus
the
respondents
of
this
study
don’t
have
the
intention
of
quitting
the
job.
The
model
suggests
some
strategic
implications
for
automotive
industries.
Managerial
initiatives
should
demonstrate
the
ability
to
influence
relevant
outcome
variables.
Since
the
model
indicates
that
employing
managerial
initiatives
leads
to
employee
job
satisfaction
and
increase
in
productivity,
automotive
industries
should
consider
alternate
managerial
initiative
techniques
to
assess
employee
job
satisfaction.
Due
to
these
strong
influences
of
managerial
initiatives,
the
construct
is
of
strong
pragmatic
importance.
Evidently,
it
would
be
of
value
for
future
studies
to
drill
down
and
pin
point
effects
of
other
specific
components
of
managerial
initiatives.
Employees
could
be
required
to
be
in
other
departments
in
order
to
fulfill
the
co
-
worker’s
job
in
his
absence.
