Although fresh food storage temperature is relatively high to that in freezer, the total amount of
warm and moist air entrance should affect the storage temperature due to its wider contact area
with ambient. And, the frost formation inside finned tube evaporator will also increase due to this
air entrance. This effect will cause the heat transfer coefficient of frost coil to decay, and the HRF
would consume more energy. So the increase in energy consumption should not be ignored. The
result for energy consumption at ambient temperature of 15 C with food compartment door
opening test is shown in Fig. 3 and Table 4.
