Serum from
the individuals was measured for IgE and IgG levels,
and stool was examined for egg content. All doses
(from 10-100 larvae per person) resulted in
quantifiable fecal egg counts, transient increases in
serum IgE and eosinophil counts, and a gradual
rise in IgG. Subjects experienced adverse reactions:
nine had abdominal pain and diarrhea, four
reported malaise, and two developed a cough or
wheezing
