This methodology has a good purification
performance; however, corrosion of equipment and pipes is a
drawback. So-called dry washing uses ion exchange resins or magnesium
silicate powders to adsorb impurities and alcohol has to be
removed by evaporation. The resins are expensive, and the small
magnesium silicate particles have to be removed by a filtration
system (Berrios and Skelton, 2008).
