Wipe down the surface of the electric griddle with a damp kitchen towel before plugging it in.

Test the griddle temperature by flicking a few drops of water onto the surface with a wet finger. The electric griddle is plenty hot when the water droplets bounce and evaporate almost instantly.

Lower the raw food product gently onto the surface of the griddle, giving each item at least an inch of free space on all sides.

Move or flip the cooking food with a nylon or plastic spatula to avoid scratching the surface of the griddle.

Remove the cooked food before unplugging the griddle. Allow the griddle to cool for 20 minutes.

Wash the cooled surface of the flattop electric griddle with a damp and lightly soapy non-abrasive sponge. Remove the grease trap and wash it in the sink.
