Thailand has urged Japan to invest more in the Kingdom under the Super-Cluster policy, and also increase market access for farm crops such as mangos and processed pork.
Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn held a meeting with her Japanese counterpart in the Philippines on the sidelines of the 27th APEC Summit in Manila.
She said after meeting with Motoo Hayashi, Japan's economic, trade and Industries minister, that Thailand and Japan agreed to tighten cooperation in trade and investment as way to promote trade and investment growth between the two sides.
Thailand asked Japanese investors to expand and start new investments in Thailand under the Super-Cluster policy or in the special economic zones following the Thai government's measure to support supply-chain industries' shift from upstream to downstream as well as promote small and medium-sized enterprises investment, and research and development institutes in the same area.
