Switched Capacitor Devices
Switched capacitor circuits provide voltage conversion, integration, and filtering. They simplify
designs and provide a better degree of versatility.
Figure 13-33 shows a switched capacitor voltage
converter. These are commonly used in battery
powered devices and can be used to invert, double, divide, or multiply a positive input voltage.
One of these devices, the Maxim MAX1044, can
supply up to 10 mA of load current from a 1.5-V
to a 10-V positive supply. Maxim also makes the
MAX660 for load currents up to 100 mA.
