This study took student interactions with a similar commonly used application to
Moodle in terms of interaction, Facebook. Students readily use Facebook on their mobile
phones with the functionalities of following discussions, posting social material, reading
social material, uploading videos and images. The closed group feature of Facebook also
brings us closer to the virtual classroom setting that VLE’s provide. This is similar to the
interactions of the Moodle Learning Environment. Where users can follow class
discussions, post questions and answers to topics, download documents to mention a few.
