Of the 63 students who responded 81 percent had smart phones with the remaining having
simpler standard internet enabled phones. It is very likely to find students with non-internet
enabled phones and if the study had a wider range some students could most likely be
found. This is due to information sourced from mobile operators stating that a high number
of Malawians use simple monochrome or non-internet enabled phones. This prompted the
banking sector to use simple text based applications to offer their mobile banking services
to their customers. But out of this studies students non had non internet phones.
