Rice straw used in this study was collected from a field near Longtan in Taoyuan, Taiwan. All of the straw were air-dried and then milled to give a size less than 1.0 cm. The chemical constituent of the raw material contained 36% glucose, 26% xylose, % arabinose, % acetic acid and 13% lignin. These materials were stored in the plastic bags at room temperature until further processed.
