SAFE FUND
1. Front office drop safe will be maintained and controlled by front office and general cashier for the daily cash sale purposes.
2. The drop safe should require dual access (both a key and a combination are needed to open it ). This is to ensure that two people are present when the safe is opened, one being the general cashier and the other being a witness from the from office or security department.
3. Although the general cashier should the only person with knowledge of the combination, for back up process however, the head of accounting and general manager should each maintain half of the written combination in a sealed envelope, signed jointly and store in separate safe deposit boxes
4. The safe key should be retained by the head of accounting in his or her safe and only issued to the witness indicated in point 2 above upon logging the entry into a log book. Similar steps should be observed when returning the key.
5. The combination to the house safe should be changed any time there is a change in cashiering personnel. Otherwise, the combination should be changed at least annually.
6. The front office drop safe vault must be secured by an alarm system and/or surveillance camera.
